That's the exact problem. They were unsafe and very unreliable feeding. Imo, the 17 does not even belong in this discussion. It's 300BLK and 308 for rifles (308 just because of the sheer number of them) and 40 Cal and 44 mag for pistols with pistols taking a narrow lead.

Idk man.
I'd like to see some graphs of ammo sales over the lifespan of these various calibers.
I'd bet you'd see some mind blowing numbers with the .17
