Why Does Nickelback Get So Much Hate?

I know most of their songs sound similar, but they aren't awful. I actually like a few of their songs. I think people just hate them because it's the cool thing to do.

I was at Best Buy a while back in the music section and there were like 6 different Nickelback albums on the shelf. Like three regular albums, a couple of b-side albums and one with a single and more b-sides. I was like, who the frick is gonna buy all this shite?

I hate them because they are the Walmart of music. A commercially driven band with absolutely no creativity. Everything sounds the same.

I know people that listen to them and that's fine with me. At the same time these people also find bands like 3 Doors Down pleasing, which have about the same amount of talent or lack-of. IMO I dislike them due to the fact that they are everything that is wrong with music. An overproduced, bland and fairly untalented cheese-rock band.
