Just came from spring game
Now I know how stupid people are on this
website and dont know shhhh about football
Mett is Fine Jennings is young made mistakes
Under pressure what freshman dont
Rivers is the smartest qb on the field
Made consistant 3-4 reads per play in less
Than 3 seconds have not seen that since
Matt flynn

Damn, wish I would have seen Rivers a bit more. Was too busy grabbing autographs. Copeland and Matt were the only ones I didn't get. Real happy to get the whole draft class. A few bonuses like getting Karl Malone's auto and some of the eye of the Tiger gloves off of Kwon and whoever #5 was.

3rd string was 80% walk-ons. Probably 10 players missed the game, couple that with the early leavers and most of the freshman class not here yet, there was probably about 50-55 scholarship players to go around.

Maybe like Southern Lab then. They're better than Southern. Lol.

Rivers was ridiculously on- point. I was actually kind of shocked at how good he looked. He threw with authority, hit all the spots and most importantly, sustained drives.
Really? Everything I've heard about him on 247 since I joined last fall has been good. Do people think he fricking sucks or something?

Gotta love rivers shaking off the haters to have a monster game. He looked real good with the ones.
yeah, there is a few people who should never be taken seriously regarding football again who have been posting about the QB position the past couple of months.
Rivers will be number two. Period.

Wait a second. I thought Rivers had no accuracy and was even terrible in practices? According to some posters on this board, Rivers had no chance of ever stepping foot on the field at LSU
You know, considering the extensive amount of time posters have seen him play and the massive amount of times these posters have seen him in practice
Something is wrong here!

I have a blast getting autographs and have no shame about it. I love collecting lsu memorabilia. If it is immature of me to really enjoy taking a pic of me holding two bcs crystal balls then so be it.

Had a guy sitting behind me talking on his phone telling someone "No way Mettenberger will be the starter, they have to go with the Freshman." Then, "Rivers? I'm not sure if he's even still here," as Rivers is making a nice play, scrambling and hitting OBJ for a long gain.
First thing me and my brother wonder is who this guy is on the Rant, lol..

Agree! Rivers look pretty solid to me. Not that he was perfect but he came out playing like a champ. Made some really nice plays.
That said, the talk of AJ might have been a little premature... maybe but although his numbers didn't really show it a lot of that was not on him. He threw away a lot of passes because nobody was open and although it looks bad on paper that is actually something a lot of QB's never seem to learn how to do.
I feel real good about all three of them after what was shown.
Here is something we haven't seen and was shown by all three of them. Throwing perfect strikes to deep WR when they were covered and NONE of those throws were intercepted due to perfect placement.
Sometimes the situation just call for you to trust your wr's and an int is as good as a punt.
Numerous times and I don't mean just two or three I would turn to my wife and we would say that was a beautiful pass even though on paper it is an incompletion.

I sympathize with your point of view, but you need man-lessons. You should never allow any verbiage into your lexicon that hints of homo-erotica. "me holding...two balls"? C'mon, man!

u don't get a pass since they were crystal balls?
Posted on 4/21/13 at 9:04 am to jmarto1
I really hope Mett steps up this year, but so far in spring training he looks like last year with over throwing the receiver like in the bama game. So far he hasn't lived up to the hype since he has been at LSU.

It's a close call; I'll grant that. You see, there's an example!
I started to type, "It's a close call; I'll give you that." Then I thought, "'I'll give you that' could be interpreted as..." So, I changed "give" to "grant". Same meaning, but no one can interpret that against me. Whew! Made it through another post.
