After briefly scanning thisgun law page on Oregon, it looks like one of the "good" states. Next question, what is the hunting like? I remember Washington being ranked as one of the best hunting states in our recent thread about it.. Portland is on the Washington state line, but is there also good hunting in state?
LSUintheNW will probably be able to give me great insight, but I don't see him here often anymore. Anybody know anything else about the area that I should know about?

job wise, I'd suggest Seattle over Portland
but if you just want Oregon, why not a smaller town? Such as Bend?

I already have a job lined up, and wouldn't have a hard time finding something in my field if that one doesn't come to fruition. The wife could find work in a week.
We haven't narrowed down the exact suburb or area that we want to live in, but we enjoy the city. FWIW I have many "hipster" traits and friends. We would probably hang out if we were in the same town.

Word of advise Chalice..If you have a buddy do a bunch of blow and render his noddle lifeless the whore in his hotel room will still expect him to pay for his allotted time. And when he refuses there will be and big WWE looking mofo pounding on the door within .3 seconds. It's best just for you buddy to pony up the cheese.

I'll be damned. Didn't realize that. FWIW I didn't particularly take a shine to Portland Or the times I've been. But there is some pretty country up there when you get out and about.

But you really are a redneck.
Balls, what did you not like about it? I haven't been to Portland, but I loved Seattle. I really love the countryside in that area, and I think it would be a nice place to raise a kid. With it being easy for me to transition with my job, not having to change my lifestyle, I think I want to give it a shot for a few years.

Awesome beer, but way too much damn rain for my taste. All that rainforest around the Columbia river is bound to have a lot of deer right?

Just not my kind of folk. I can fit in anywhere for a short period of time. But I'm wired different then most of those people. Deep down I'm a hamburger steak mashed tater and gravy eating blood thirsty whiskey swillin don't tread on me see you in church Sunday angry right wing Republican by God 'Murican. I'm content where I'm at.
