Seems that way as of now.

This guy is the future for LSU.

Sounds like some of you guys are already planting the seeds for the "DAMMIT MILES PUT IN JENNINGS" after an incompletion from Mett

I'll be shocked to see Jennings in on anything more than a few running plays this year. Rivers is the number two guy until he proves on the field he can't handle it.

Jennings is really not even into his freshman year yet, give the guy some time.

I agree with that. Jennings will have his packages this year. That will set him up very nicely for the following season to be the starter and leader of our program.

Please dear lord tell me this person is referring to 2014.

Please.

I refuse to believe a person could be dumb enough to be referring to this upcoming season.

Then you're dumb. If that happens LSU loses 4 games minimum.

All that I have read has Jennings surpassing Rivers as the #2 and will see the field some mainly in some specific packages.

it makes zero sense to rush AJ along at this point.

I'm praying Mett stays healthy because neither Rivers nor Jennings are ready to be the starter.

I'm happy to see a real battle for the backup job

That could only happen if we had the same scrub QB's. Neither of those two could dream of being as good as AJ.

With that said, right now I'd like to see us go with experience unless we just didn't have a choice. I want to see the young guys grow before they have to play significant time.

Lees confidence was obviously shaken after that season. It would be a damn shame to see that happen to Jennings.

I have and will never be a fan of a a QB that half you guys could beat in a 40 yard dash. Don't give me the Pro statistics, this is college and the argument is not the same. There isn't as much parity and our statue isn't anything like Peyton Manning.

Trust me, I don't want to start a frosh either. Based on the fact that Mett wasn't been able to wow anybody last yr and made really simple mistakes, I would say that all QB's were basically on par with each other. Insert a new OC, effectively teaching them all from scratch, I think Jennings with his mobility is someone to watch.

I have high hopes for Jennings and even think he has the ability to be a Russell Wilson college type talent. But, to jump the gun and say that he's immediately jumped Rivers because of a few paragraphs and minutes of spring practice tape is ridiculous.

Give it time folks.

Its amazing how quickly some of you forget how good Mett was down the stretch of the season last year

I don't understand why some people think its impossible for a freshman to come in and immediately make an impact. It doesn't take everyone a year+ to develop. Jennings is damn good and we could definitely benefit from having him on deck in case mett went down

Everything that Ive read and heard points to Cam Cameron having Jennings as the number two guy behind Mett.

All the spring reports have him getting more snaps and throwing more passes than Rivers in scrimmages.

I would not be surprised to see Jennings to be the first one in this fall if Mett were to get popped.

I can understand most Tiger fans doubting a frosh QB, but what you fail to realize is that we haven't had a real OC/QB coach for a LONG time. Relatively raw talent in the hands of someone who has a clue should be able to progress very quickly.
We have had QB's and receivers that didn't progress one bit from where they were in high school. Hopefully our OC can fix this.

Out of curiosity, have you personally seen him practice?
