You think Taco Bell employees are overqualified in relation to their salary?
No, perhaps even under qualified, but I'll say this. The more we devalue food and culinary arts in general the more our food is a joke, and nobody wins from that. This is all fed by our desire for the deal rather than excellence though. The end result is a dwindling talent pool and a continual dumbing down of food to fit the dumbed down back of the house that we created when we the consumers sought after the deal rather than really good food. 15K garbage jobs doesn't really impress me as much as creating jobs to make better food and eventually a living that is valued by people with brains and initiative, initiative that is killed once people realize they can't live off of their desire to cook for a living, well, not in places that don't value it compared to the deal and other nonsense.

This isn't about good or bad food. Get off your soap box.

This thread wasn't meant to be a commentary on the food that Taco Bell serves or the people that work there. My point was I think it's nice that something as simple as a taco lead to 15,000 people being gainfully employed. Jeez, y'all.

You think normal restaurants pay a livable wage to the average kitchen worker? $7.25/hr is what a taco bell worker is going to make. Your average kitchen worker probably makes $8 or $9/hr

I don't know what planet you're from, but here on earth, making a taco shell that tastes like Doritos is a god damned culinary masterpiece.
