i just watched the ign review on it and i was diggin the graphics. but wasnt sure about the long term gameplay

Definitely can sink some hours in this. 5 different classes to play, a second and third playthrough that are really challenging, and three DLC's. Play with friends if you can.

glad you picked up the ico/shadow collection. they are a tad pretentious, but great games nonetheless. atmosphere and stories are second to none.

Ico is one of my favorite games for the PS2.
