My favorite Bond is Sean Connery
Then Brosnan/Craig
My first Bond movie was A View to a Kill and I will say Walken was a great villian, but I found that Moore as Bond had lost a lot of the edginess. He seemed more a caricature of Bond than anything else.
Dalton's Bond, especially in License to Kill was much more deadly. I remember my older brother telling me that this Bond movie was the best in his opinion b/c Dalton's Bond just didn't give a shite. He went around just killing everyone and was pretty brutal. Bond was/is a killer, not a comedian.
I think Craig does a good job of bringing out the "killer" in Bond. He's not as PC as Brosnan's Bond. Back in the 90's it seems they were trying to make Bond less of a chauvenist and more politically correct. Craig's Bond gets away from that crap.
