In the parallel film 300: Rise of an Empire (out Aug. 2), which takes place at about the same time as its predecessor, Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) and his common-man troops fight the rest of the Persian army at sea.

Don't think they should make a sequel. The first one was all style. The wow factor is lost in a sequel.

In this case, the mightiest power is primarily led by Artemesia (Eva Green), the vengeful commander of the Persian navy, who is second in command to the mortal-turned-god leader Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro). If you look reallllllllll carefully, you'll see that... it has always been there. There is no "phase." Cecil B DeMille remade his own epic movie The Ten Commandments. A Star is born has been done THREE times. Ben Hur twice, and those are just a few the big ones that stand out and right off the top of my head. The story of Christ, god knows how many times. Now as for squeals, ever heard of The Thin Man? Tarzan? Know what a serial is right? Now I'll give you this, sequels didn't become that prominent until the late 70s. Mostly due to Mr. Spielburg and the creation of the "Blockbuster." After that "Hollywood" realized that people will run to the theater to see awesome shite. So they probably thought,"Hey I bet people will run to go see that shite again!" And now we do.
