I used to be like this with Shawshank, but I've seen it so many times on TV that I can tear myself from it now. My new Shawshanks, A Few Good Men and Braveheart.

Same. It's finally lost its hold on me.

Does it for me every time. Shawshank, too, which is why I clicked on this thread.

I have seen Braveheart so many times that it has faded a bit.

What is it about Shawshank, though? It is kind of a dark movie, but like others have said, when it is on, you just end up watching it.

Godfather I & II is like that for me as well. I have seen those movies a million times and I could watch them over and over. The first 2/3 of Goodfellas is like that too. I get bored with it once Ray Liotta is a sniveling coke head.
