Antonini was mentioned. Did he still catch or did he become a full time reliever his last year?

He got moved to full time reliever to make way for Tim Lanier at catcher, and his pitching stint at LSU in 1994 was somewhat of a comic debacle.

1994 stats: LINK

Will Hunt pitched a lot in '93, but only had 41 AB: LINK.

He had 67 AB in '92, but pitched less: LINK.

Neither of the Harris brothers say significant pitching action until 2006, when Will pitched 19 innings: LINK.

My memories of Ogea in the World Series for the Indians are fuzzy, but he never hit for LSU.

Speaking of two way players got me thinking and I just looked up Tim Hudson's stat line from 1997.

.396 BA, 108 H, 71 R, 21 2B, 18 HR, 95 RBI
15-2, 2.97 ERA, 118.1 IP, 165 K

oh yeah, hudson raked in college. brad wilkerson was a beast of a two way player as well.

"As a junior in 1998, he became the first player in college history to hit 20 home runs, steal 20 bases, and win 10 games as a pitcher in the same year."

Aaron Johnson (no longer on the team) was a major power-hitting lefty in high school. Don't even think about getting Nola some at-bats. He wasn't anything special at the plate in high school.

People forget that in '97 when Larson hit .381 with 40 HR and 118 RBI he wasn't the MVP in the SEC - it was Tim Hudson.

Yeah, Adrian Antonini was certainly an LSU fan favorite and loved LSU, but a "great two-way player?" No.

What was the name of the Wichita State stud pitcher/hitter who played in the 1993 CWS? Darren Drysdale?

Darren Driefort

He also threw at Rios in the 1991 final. Rios scored and added an insurance run.

that's him! LSU didn't face him on the mound in the '93 finale. I guess he batted. There was little to have to remember from that game of Wichita's offense. :-)
