So Costco and Sams club sell these and Sams even has it on their internet site. And I’m to believe BGE actively tries to prevent this from happening when it occasionally does happen to protect their customers???????
Why do you think we, an authorized dealer, were warned to be cautious of anyone buying large quantities of BGE's from our store? I mean, they aren't hunting people down and prosecuting them, but I'd say they are actively trying to prevent it. Not honoring the warranty is another way they are preventing it. Sam's knows neither they, nor BGE, can offer a warranty if it is sold in their store by an "illegal" means (in BGEs eyes)...so IMO it's on Sams to make that known to the customer. As far as BGE knows, they have no clue that some Sams club in Louisiana has their product. Sams club managers aren't walking into stores and telling retailers who they are and why they want 5+ fwiw.

My question on the whole Sam's deal is why are these stores doing all this leg work to buy a couple of eggs at a time to sell? For a store that does millions in sales a year it seems like a poor choice of resources to send labor and a truck to buy eggs slightly under retail to make a slim profit...

I'm still not understanding how Sams is making a profit after purchasing at your marked up price?

Sam's managers aren't walking into ANY retailer buying ANY BGE for resale. Deliveries of BGE to Sam's come directly from the Sam's general merchandise distribution centers. Fact.
