Lol, win Worlds? Lmfao.
Be lucky to get a team into semis and that'll be a major accomplishment for NA.
Just wait until C9 gets thrown in the group of death with SKT the 2 seed and EDG the 1.
Someone will get SKT for a 2 seed and another will get Samsung as a 3 seed. RNG will be a 2 somewhere, AHQ will be a 4 somewhere.
Until groups come out tomorrow it's pointless.

TSM could do really well and C9 are playing well too.
But no NA team has gotten past the Quarter finals in any World Championship excluding S1. So hype is great, but I'll wait to see what happens.

Exactly.
Zero confidence.
Semifinals would be a big accomplishment if someone can muster that.

Tsm got easy draw. At least they avoid g2 and skt.

TSM are still the favorites in this group. Samsung is the White Shield of the Korean teams this year and RNG hasn't even been remotely competitive with EDG all split. I'm seeing something along the lines of 5-1 for TSM. RNG will be the other team to make it out unless they completely fail to show up again.

C9 got the easiest draw and should advance.
Beyond that, good luck. I don't see CLG advancing be surprising if that isn't G2 and ROX.
Samsung will roll to 1st and then you'll have TSM and RNG for the final spot with a slim to no chance for Splyce.
Should be fun.

Also Poro King sucks. I would much rather Aram BC all of the little kids want to carry and suck.

Might want to re-consider RNG/SSG.
Worlds hype incoming.

Damn. Zyra's plants don't proc rylais anymore. Now she's shite tear again.
Squishy, no escape, no zone control. That's really sad. So long poison ivy.
I guess I have to relearn top/ jungle to carry games.
Eta: and I just pushed the button to create a level 7 mastery and used all of that blue essence right before they gutted her. Crap.

You gonna let nerfs push you off your champion?

I just liked the specific thing they nerfed. That was what gave me zoning control and decent engage/disengage. She's way too squishy to be a decent dps mage without rylais.

Riot just dropped a frickin bomb out of nowhere holy shite, 2018 long term partnerships begin, Worlds prize pool doubling from in game Championship revenue as well as MSI.
League has changed in a big big way today.

quote:
Championship skin & ward - From now, 25% of revenue from each year’s Championship skin and Championship Ward will be added to the Worlds prize pool. That means every purchase of Championship Zed will directly increase the prize pool for Worlds 2016. For context, had this been applied last year, it would have more than doubled the prize pool.
Challenger skin - Similarly, going forward, 25% of revenue from each year’s Challenger skin will be added to the MSI prize pool.
Team Championship skins - Beginning with the winning team from this year’s Worlds, we will be sharing 25% of the revenue earned on skin sales in the launch year of each set of Team Championship skins directly with the players who inspired them, as well as their team and league (because it takes a village to make a champion). In the spirit of celebrating past champions, we’ll also be sharing revenue from past Team Championship skins with the previous winners - players, teams and leagues (Fnatic, TPA, SKT, Samsung White and SKT again)
New (and improved) digital goods - Next year, we’ll be introducing new revenue sharing opportunities, such as team-branded in-game items and esports promotions, as well as improving revenue sharing on summoner icons (World icons increasing from 20-30% and regional league increasing as determined by each league). We believe the potential for revenue is extremely strong for committed teams building strong brands - but given that these are new and untested products and we’re looking to address an immediate gap in team revenue, in 2017 each league will set aside a guaranteed minimum to each of its teams as it determines appropriate based on regional needs. For example, the EU LCS will have a minimum revenue amount of €100,000 per team for the full season, of which 50% will go to players as supplemental income on top of their existing salaries.
Even without counting the retroactive payments to past champions, this will contribute millions of dollars in additional revenue to teams and pros each year.

Nice play to avoid modifying the system and try to reduce the incentives for players and teams to collectively bargain.
They had to do this to avoid a franchise system and maintain the challenger series and relegations aspect of the league (which greatly encourages teams to perform their best).
The revenue system used by riot maintains the viewing friendly lcs formats. I'm afraid that if they tried to adopt the advertising model that has been suggested by a number of teams and individuals that they would end up with the same trend in declining viewership that other sports are seeing. No one wants to see commercials. No one.
Maybe they aren't fully monetizing their product, but the current system definitely works. So, I don't blame them for trying to remain status quo in a highly competitive and fickle industry.
