Well we knew nvidia was exaggerating a bit calling the 3080 "up to" twice as fast as a 2080 (with probably RTX on and DLSS or something), but still pretty promising.

Hardware Unboxed got +31% at 4k than 2080 TI across 14 games but only +21% at 1440p. Still a HUGE leap over Turing vs. Pascal especially in price/performance.

In their test system with a 2080ti it drew 433 watts while gaming vs. 523 watts on the 3080.

Sounds like the 3070 will in fact be right at 2080Ti level of performance, not bad. Poor 2080Ti owners

Idk, it is like that when you buy the flag ship every gen.

The only time I was truly pissed off is when nVidia released the 780 Ti 3-4 months after the OG TITAN launch. One of the TITANS I grabbed off eBay for 1300 and one I was able to grab at retail price.

But with the release of the 780Ti at I believe 799 or 899, it cut my OG TITANS resale in half to $600 within 120days post launch.

Price you pay when buying each gens flag ship.
