There doesn't need to be a middle ground, now that 144Hz has become standard there are shite loads to buy. I wouldn't consider below 120Hz.
Unfortunately DisplayPort 1.4 can only do 4K 120Hz max, and the 1.3 and below can only do 4K 60Hz.

Posting from it now, just need to update the drivers, install the new monitor, update the ram config, and time to start benching.
