Meh...

A 7600k/GTX1080 for the purposes he outlined is more than enough imo.

Especially when you can get a 7600k now for around $200 quite frequently.

EDIT: He could also wait for the 8600k and the Coffee Lake benchmarks.

Agreed.

A Upper Mid-Tier build is fine with a 4C CPU. For those games needing 6+ physical cores, I guarantee the GPU is the bottleneck long before.

Eh, no point in paying for a 7600K when you can get more for the same price or a tad bit more once the 7700K drops in price from the 8700K.

But for me I'm all about getting the most for my money and a 7600K is at the bottom for that these days.

Tom'sHardware just updated their CPU list this week and no longer recommend the 7600K for gaming.

Times are a changing but I love it. Moar cores moar threads please.
