It'll launch non-steam games. Can't get it to launch steam games at all, even if I say "Hey Cortana, launch witcher3.exe." It's definitely a Steam problem more than a Windows problem. However they're installed, Windows doesn't seem to acknowledge them as applications, nor their shortcuts as shortcuts -- as in, I can't pin steam game shortcuts to the start menu. I have to go in the game's directory and create a shortcut of the game's exe and pin that instead.

It will launch GOG games, just tried it with Witcher 3. Time to convert.

Found this on Steam forums about to try it

quote:

Go to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs.
Make a copy of the steam shortcut.
Rename steam shortcut to your game, (or what you want to say to launch it) ex: counter strike
Right click shortcut and edit the "Target" line, add -applaunch "STEAMAPPID" (no quotes) to the end of it. For example CSGO is 730 so the target line should look like this.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 730
Place this shortcut to C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
Ask cortana to open it and
...
PROFIT!

ETA: Boom there we go, works. Must reboot to take effect, did it with H1Z1 and launched it perfectly.
