I got the power color 7970 from Newegg, it's on the way back to California for RMA

They say they are the same part but they don't look like the same. newegg ratings are bad for it while ncix is good. That's enough for me not to take the risk but I am curious about the difference.

Yep, that should be the same one but I dont know. No idea why Newegg is charging so much more for it. PCPartPicker shows it as $329 - $20 MIR = $309. But Amazon is selling is for $319 with no advertised rebate. I can't imagine the rebate not being accepted if you bought it on amazon though.
It seems like people have a lot of trouble with non-reference 7970s. My MSIs have been flawless, though, even after I let water gush out of the blocks and pool on both PCBs.
