Wow, I didn't know the backlight bleed was that bad on the PLS panels. Was just googling pictures of it and some of them looked really bad, like this one:



I don't have a PLS Panel, but I have a QNIX. It's the QX2700 IPS glossy panel, perfect pixel. It had a very mild amount of backlight bleed -- not even enough for me to care, but I saw how easy it was to remove the panel so I went ahead and added a few more screws to the metal frame that holds the panel. Made sure they were all equally tight (but not overtightened) and all is well. I paid $350 (more than the PLS panels are going for), but it's essentially flawless.

Wow, I sincerely hope that I'm not that unfortunate. I will be finding out soon enough...
