The regular or pro version?
What's your CPU?

Price is relative.
I guess its not cheap but its not really water cooling in the custom loop sense. Its proven some air coolers can perform better at times.
I'm not the biggest fan of AiOs. A lot of times you end up with cheap noisy DDC motors which whine. A lot of the time you are better off just going with a Noctua if you aren't going custom loop.

AIOs are far easier to install then most air coolers, at least from my experience

Wait, you bought a $130 AIO for a locked i5?
Posted on 6/14/19 at 9:56 am to Korin
i tried running it without a cooler and it got over 100 degrees celsius.
i'm impatient and it was the only one i could get immediately.

The stock cooler is just fine for locked i3 and i5 though. I've had mine for over a year now.
I don't think I'd trust it with a locked i7 though.

i got it cheaper without the stock cooler. i forgot i tossed the box for the cooler master 212 evo i had and the box had the intel screws in it so i couldn't use it.

How much? Because the successor (9400) is only $150 and still comes with the stock cooler ($140 at Microcenter).

Of course the downside to the 9400 is that it's Coffee Lake Refresh so it might not work on a 310/360/370 board without using a regular Coffee Lake CPU to update the BIOS.
Oh and it doesn't have integrated graphics but no one cares.

yeah i spent all night playing division 2 on ultra and it was just fine so i'm not too worried about it. i probably should've been a hair more discerning about the parts i got tho and not been so impatient.
i ended up with:
Intel Core I5-8400
MSI B360M motherboard
32gb Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2666mhz
Corsair i115h liquid cooler
HP 25x 24.3" 144hz, 1ms monitor
HP 24" 60hz monitor
Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD
seems like it'll be a good rig.

Yep, that's similar to what I have.
i5 8400
Gigabyte B360 (I wanted 2 case fan headers, otherwise would've just gotten an H310)
Vengeance 2x8 2666
EVGA 1070
Still kills it at 1080/60. I occasionally have to play at High instead of Ultra.
Although If I was doing it now I'd get a Ryzen 2600X or wait for next month's Ryzen 3600.

Not the installation.
Just sometimes if not most of the time they add noise with little thermal benefit. They are only really handy in builds where you are restricted by space.

I'm finally jumping back up to 1440p. Cant wait for that 144hz 1440p gsync action
Posted on 6/14/19 at 3:01 pm to bluebarracuda
I've been thinking the same. 2160p for 4yrs but the only game I play (City of Heroes) runs like shtt in 4K. It runs in an old engine from 2004. So might buy 2 really insane 1440p.
4K gaming is not for every genre. It's a resolution for games like Witcher3 and God of War but nearly everything else I rather high refresh.

This monitor I just bought is pretty nasty. What's the best way to clean a display? Microfiber cloth and water?
