LSU and Tulane officials are having informal discussions about playing each other in the 2015 season opener on Sept. 5 in the Superdome, LSU senior associate athletic director Verge Ausberry said Thursday.

"We have had informal discussions with the people at Tulane," Ausberry said. "We have to agree to a price. It's a good game for both schools, both schools will make money.

"We want seats in good locations for our fans. How many seats we get and where we get them is what we need to work out to get this done."

Ausberry said LSU is also pursuing a major BCS conference opponent to play in Tiger Stadium on Sept. 12, 2015. The Tigers are scheduled to play Arizona State at home in that game slot, Sept. 12, and then in Tempe in 2016, but Ausberry said he doesn't want to play Arizona State and Wisconsin in 2016. So, LSU is pushing back the Arizona State home-and-home to later years and bringing in another 2015 foe.
