Definitely. The same company used to have a plant in West Jeff that my dad worked at during the 70s.

Dow is currently expanding their existing Taft, La. Plant to do exactly this. Work has been ongoing for almost one year. However Dow recalled many of their early retirees (read laid off) from previous 2-3 years when they down sized. The former Dow employees got the good jobs and outside contractors got the rest.
Great opportunity if you are not working, but look closely what may happen over 3-5 years.
