Gotta disagree with you on that one kid. When he gets the ball in his hands the kid is nice. WR all the way. Gonna kill in the slot.

And people are concerned about our DBs because.......?

A little thing called....coverage??

These drills prove jack shite about that, not saying they won't be good in coverage this year.

Holmes looked timid but it has to be due to his arm. I really hope this kid can make that transition from track star to Db he could be a great coverage corner with that speed

Dude were returning our 2 best cover CBs in Mills and Collins. Also think Martin is a better cove safety than he is a run stopper. Complete player though.

Thompson is going to be a stud. Physical freak.

Mills is an animal at coverages and run support.

Jerqwinick looks great too.

Blues injury was a partially torn ACL and MCL. If he tore his ACL he wouldn't be at spring.

I love how Eugene always steps up to do anything. Chief is yelling that he needs blockers, Eugene is first one up. Basically stayed in the drill the entire time. You can tell he's a team favorite. Chief loves him. He's a true nickle. His position safety, not CB. I think he will be a damn good safety. One thing I love about Eugene is that he's just a football player. You can blitz him, put him on Manziel or a RB, put him on a WR. Let him play inside, almost at a LB spot. Great special teamer. He does a lot. Definition of a utility player and that's huge for the type of D Chavis likes to run.

Avery Johnson has a long way to go before he starts contributing. Nowhere close. Diarse will contribute before him.

Holmes has a broken hand. You can tell he's a track guy that plays football. Wish we would move him back to WR. Not physical enough to play D.

Both were very young and made plenty of mistakes last year. They will be better this year, but don't act like we are returning two all-americans. There are legitimate reasons why some would be at least a little worried about our secondary.

What??? Both were better than Simon last year. Mills was our best CB as a true freshman. Collins potential is through the roof and when he got comfortable on the field he made plays.
Yea, they made mistakes. They were freshman. I expect the mental mistakes to be cut down a lot.

Did i say anything about them being all americans or anything? Nope, never said anything like that. The poster said that drill doesn't show anything about coverage. And I stated that mills and Collins were our 2 best cover guys last year. That's all.

What reason do you have that they won't be a good defensive backfield? I think they will be better than last years.

There's only one reason really, we lost the leader of our defense and our secondary. That counts for a lot.

Yea you said reasons. Only 1 reason. And I agree losing Reid counts for a lot. But considering this will be Lostons 4th or 5th year in the program, I see him taking that spot and becoming the leader. Plus, Reid didn't have his best season last year. Martin, Loston, Mills, Collins >> Reid, Loston, Simon, mills

Eh, you lose a lot of depth when you lose simon and reid. Remember, Collins was the first man off the bench last year, and not a full time starter. There will be young guys step up, but it's not unreasonable to have concerns about the secondary. I do have much bigger concerns with out DL though.

Simon was horrible last year. Collins was basically a starter. When we went nickel mills moved inside and Collins went outside. We ran nickel a lot. Don't really lose much with Simon being gone.

And we have more than enough people to fill in at safety for Reid, who didn't have a good season either. Loston, Martin, Eugene, Thompson, and Sandolph. 3 of those 5 have legit playing time. Other 2 were big special teamers.

I get you are a huge Reid fan, because I am too. But I think Martin will fill in the safety spot extremely well and Loston will bring leadership to the table. Plus Mills grew up really fast as a freshman and didn't play like a freshman, just like I don't expect him to play as a sophomore. He's a vet already. This is also Collins 3rd year in the program and Chavis has been grooming him for this year.

Again, Martin, Loston, Mills, and Collins > Reid, Loston, Simon, and Mills.
