I'm deep in cotton country up here in NWLA. I used to manage a seed/fertilizer/chemical warehouse and help my boss farm about 1500 acres.

We were quite cavalier, but you can get in some shite if you smoke your neighbors crop. It will drift quite a distance so you have to play the wind and spray when you can.

Yeah a friend/neighbor pissed off everyone on the Parish years ago by planting the only cotton in it.

Seems like I've heard 50 miles ain't out of the question on the drift. Sounds far but that number sticks in my mind.

I bet fricken so.

Drift Retardant, playing the wind, and the new high-capacity sprayers with venturi nozzles make a farmer's life a lot easier.


Using it with a little hand-held sprayer early in the morning will be fine for the original poster.
