Austin is a 7-7.5 hour drive from Monroe.
College Station is just over 6.
Tuscaloosa is about 4.5.
Baton Rouge is about 3.5.
you must drive 20 miles below the speed limit I can get to Monroe from BCS in less than 5 hours easy. Honestly with me driving it would prob be close to 4. It's 330 miles and the speed limit is 70 most of the way.
Google maps even says 5:25. Austin around 6:45. And Google is notoriously conservative in estimates.

Bama at all.
Bama is smack in the middle of the sec. They are not far from any of the sec states.

this would appear to exclude CUM, in Columbus.
Nothing new to see here.

I guess that means driving distance?

But the SEC schools he listed (Bama, A&M) are only marginally further than Baton Rouge and the road schedule would be basically the same.
All but Stanford would probably stay in the 8hr circle; UT may be on the outer banks of that. However LSU is by far the closest of the schools. Means nothing other than Momma's trip is shorter if he ends up here...

Looks like he's LSU bound to me. He'll be very similar to how JD was last year regarding his recruitment process, which is AWESOME!

Up until recently Ohio State was his "dream school". He grew up loving OS. This guy's highlight film looks fabulous!!!! Luv him.

Way to go out on a limb
But I agree

I am from BR and went to ULM. If it takes 3.5 hours to get to BR, you are driving really slow....3 tops. Taking LA 15 to natchez and down 61.

Having Diarse on our team is a huge advantage for us in his recruitment, but as we've seen before, getting momma on board is the key

Biggest thing I see with Hootie and LSU is that he has been to LSU on 2 occasions when he wasnt invited and just popped in cuz he was in Baton Rouge.

I'm not a brain scientist here but that math don't add up..

who says you have to drive 80?
That's why I put 5 hours or 4 with me driving. Hopefully you can figure that even without being a "brain scientist" (btw, never heard that one...usually "brain surgeon")

I see this a lot but I'm not sure why everyone thinks this. Now don't get me wrong, it will help that Diarse can give him insight on what to look for when/if he enrolls and getting first hand info from someone you trust really helps. But to think JD is one of the main reason we get him is pushing it. Hootie is going to do his own thing regardless. Are the buddies? Yes. Were they together 24-7? Not really. But from talking to John and his dad the past few years it's not the type of deal where they sat down saying lets attend the same school. With that said, I do know that JD talks up LSU every chance he gets and that can't hurt. It's just a matter of Hootie beign happy and Momma Hootie being happy and I think that will happen w/ LSU.

Hootie is not going to A&M, but I guess it doesn't hurt to familiarize yourself with future all-SEC players.

it's really odd because I said exactly that in my first post in this thread. Some of you work so hard to be argumentative and be offended by anything that you really come off as incredibly insecure.

My dream is for us to just lock up Ouachita parish/NELA. The talent there is growing yearly.
