Is Alpharetta the same weekend as Panic in Pelham? This could cause some issues for me

It is brother, i'm in the same boat. I'll probably be able to swing em both. As for all you panic haters.... more room for us who can appreciate more than one band

If Phish played more than one extended jam a show now a days (save dicks) you might have an argument...but let's be honest with ourselves...the shows will all be pretty meh until they get out to CO

It is really funny when you meet a WSP fan who considers the band to be on the same level of Phish

We have another noob here who thinks music is a competition. They're apples and oranges man. Both so different things for me. I don't compare them, I appreciate them both along with many other bands

Disagree. Im not into either band but wsp is boring as hell to me. I could still go to a phish show and have a good time.

I love spac, cool arse venue. Merriweather post too.

Everyone has an opinion and that's fine. Doesn't bother me one bit. I connect with both bands and appreciate them for what they are...amazing live acts on the downslope of their careers

dude you have the best Phish resume on here. I remember you saying you saw a good amount of fall 1997 and the Island Tour, which I am very jealous of.

With the right amount of alcohol, uppers, downers, nitrous tanks,LSD,mushrooms, and X, I'll admit WSP can be fun.

I am just not a big fan of bands who see their most important aspect (George McConnell) pass away and the rest of the band carry on. As I type this I realize this also happened to the Allman Brothers, but they were blessed with Dickey Betts for a bit and then really came full circle drafting Warren Haynes and especially Derek Trucks.

I guess my main complain is Jimmy Herring. His playing doesn't fit the band's style. Obviously he is very talented, but I don't think WSP is the right band for him.

Haha I chuckled at the George comment. It's all good brother, that's your opinion. Ill admit I kinda felt the same way when he first joined the band. I had stopped seeing the band in the George days and although jimmy was a breath of fresh air he was thrown in with only like 2 weeks to learn all the songs. He has really found his spot in the band now a days tho. He doesn't play over the band anymore and is much more cohesive. They did big big things in 2011 and with their wood tour. Wood tour was really good for them I feel. It broke the music down back to the basics and you could tell they were having a great time. I expect big things out of them this year. La playa was awesome. I wish I was still there. To each their own and I respect your opinion.

The part about keeping going after their best aspect passing away is kinda silly if you ask me. Houser wanted them to keep the train he helped build going and they have done just that. To do what they have done for as long as they have done should at least warrant your respect IMO. Whether you don't like them or not is another thing. If all music was the same we would live in a pretty boring world brother
