Have you seen the kids high school film? Much more of a passer than he is a runner. Id compare him to Tahj Boyd, a pocket QB who is athletic and can run the ball if neccesary... with that being said, their have been many prolific high school passers who never amounted to anything in college. Only time will tell really. What I like about him is the way he moves his head and goes through his reads, seems like a very quick decision maker.

I still think Rivers gets the nod as the #2 guy though

So much fail in one post. First off Jennings isn't a true dual threat. He can actually throw the ball accurately and only runs when needs to. Obviously you haven't watched his film. Secondly your assessment of dual threat quarterbacks is asinine. RG3, Cam, Tebow, Michael Vick, Manziel all had tremendous success as dual threat qbs. To say that you can't win with a dual threat QB is absurd.

I think he was referring to winning national championships. Only Cam and Tebow won championships. Also, you listed 5 QBs out of hundreds over the last decade. If you look at championships won by "pocket passers" vs "dual threats", it's not even close. However, with the emergence of so many athletic QBs in today's game, the margin will be shrinking soon.

1) will the tight end position become our #1 read on 3rd down under cam? No, our slot or a pressure release to the back

2) who will emerge as the #2 qb to met? Rivers.

3) will cbs pick the LSU Bama game for prime time? Or will they pick A&M Bama Good question... 50/50

4) who will take over on kick return duties with OB3 handling punts? data inconclusive

4.) Brazil and let's get Peterson or Eugene back there!

Don't see Avery making an impact his 1st year here. Not high on him at all. May be PPs brother, but he isn't in the same ball park as PP. He was highly regarded his sophomore year of high school, but fell more and more each year and wasn't what people thought he was. I believe he won the most disappointed player at the under armour all American game and has questions about how serious is he with football and work ethic.

I think Brazil will earn the return spot in the fall. He and McGhee back there.

Apparently, you don't read this site much, huh?

The young kiddies on here have some kind of weird fixation and fascination with so called athletic "Dual Threat" quarterbacks for some reason, despite the fact that very few teams ever win National Championships with one.

You said win because you know that there has been at least one in the NCG since the past 10yrs.

quote:

DTQ's are very rarely competent in the passing game, so once opposing defenses stack the box, take the run away and make the DTQ actually have to read a defense in order to pass, it's all over. (See Red Devil defense against Gholson in the National Championship game)

Just From 2012-2013 RG3, Russell Wilson, Colin Kaepernick, Andrew Luck(957yds 7 TDs in 3yrs at QB). Gholson was 21-36 for 270 with 2TD(1 rush) and one INT.

quote:

Manziel is actually one of the few DTQ's to come along since Tebow, that is actually somewhat proficient in the passing game, but I'd bet odds that SEC DC's have him figured out and he will not be quite as effective in 2013.

Please do some research and don't just limit it to the SEC. Contrary to what you believe Cam has always been a better passer than Tebow along with dozens more.

quote:

So is Jennings going to be another Tebow/Manziel or a Russell Shepard clone who was a high school wonder that couldn't handle a more complicated passing offense in college? Yall think Cam Cameron is going to water down his offense because any certain quarterback "Can't learn the playbook?

This is code word for another black QB, but I won't bite further on that. I can tell by your post that you have never seen any of his highlights. This guy is like Bridgewater in the sense that he is not a dual threat, but he can run if need be.

quote:

BTW, anybody remember what that god awful 2008 "Mallveto Monster" LSU defense did to Appalachain State DTQ Armanti EWdwards? They totally shut him down. Isn't that hard when your QB can't throw the football.

So you're going to use a FCS team playing against a powerhouse team like LSU as your example? You really didn't think this through did you.

The UT/UF game was the primetime game for years and it usually kicked off CBS's coverage of CFB. CBS doesn't start it's seaosn til the US Open is complete...usually 3rd weekend in September. They used to show a double header that day...2:30 & 7:00 telecasts.

I'm gonna go 95% Bama/A&M as their primetime game and yes, they can only show one primetime game/year. 2011 was an anomaly and CBS had to make concessions to ESPN the following year.
