Is that something he's seen already (based on where he is), or something that hasn't happened yet?

Yeah I saw that the other night. Just finished season 1 and wow. I've got too many questions to even begin to list so I will stick with my impression of the show so far.
I really like it. The balance between human conflict and science fiction is fantastic. They do an awesome job of showing the cast fight the elements, themselves and the unknown. I can't wait to start season 2 tonight.
