I hope Pepper's imminent return to Corrosion of Conformity will inspire him creatively.
At this point I feel that Pepper is being wasted in Down. He's such a great frontman. I would love another COC album. In the Arms of God was amazing. Maybe he's staying in Down because it's a well established Band with a steady paycheck.

I saw Down a few weeks ago and its a different feeling without Kirk. Pepper really has to carry the load musically now. He is supposed to be going back to COC early next year so hopefully he does something good with them.

I'm getting stoked just thinking about the classic COC lineup getting back together with Reed on drums (although i'll admit that Stanton Moore was amazing on In The Arms Of God).

Hmmm, I'm going to give that Harsh Toke a listen when I get home tonight and I'm feeling...better.
COC: They played Albatross on channel 38 (which hurt my feelings) and afterwards said COC was practicing and may even be recording, original lineup.

They are writing new material right now and just announced a European tour with Pepper. The original lineup has put out a few albums the last few years and they were solid.

A COC concert with Pepper at the helm is damn near a religious experience. That band is tighter than a nun's count.
I remember many years back there were rumors of them going on tour with the Allman Brothers Band. THAT would have been interesting.

JC Autobody new album trailer
Acquaintance of mine's band. Album out in March. He describes the record as
The riffage in the trailer makes my balls hurt. BTW, vocals very reminiscent of Perry Farrell.

i tried to write a record you'd want to listen to in a smoke-filled, half-primered el camino. strong notes of sabbath and deep purple, but with the occasional recklessness of J. Reatard, wrapped in a sort of LA deathrock feedback haze.

I too, cannot wait for the COC tour. Down, once my favorite active band has gone to complete shite. Nothing since III has even been listenable.
Saw Pepper at the Crowbar show a couple weeks back. Love that dude.

The new Torche album is streaming now. Its a bit less poppy than usual but still a great listen. If you're not familiar with this band, their sound has been described as sludge pop. Kinda heavy, sludgy riffs but with an upbeat pop melody. I'd say they're like a cross between the Melvins and Weezer. One of my favorite bands of the last few years for sure.

Finally getting a chance to check this out. Great record and is one of my favorites of this year so far. Looking forward to seeing these guys live next week

One of my favorite bands of the last ten years. With all the people complaining about how new indie rock doesn't actually rock, I don't understand how these guys aren't bigger. The pop feel should appeal to hipsters but i guess it doesn't. I really think they'd fit in well with the early to mid 90s alternative scene.

Kaiser9Bandcamp)
Oh boy, this album kicks so much arse. Must hear for stoner/heavy rock/fuzz genre fans.

Lead-footed and rhythmic, this 3-piece from Helsinki, Finland rattles skulls with their impressive 5-song debut offering. Along with steady driving beats, mighty vocals and a fondness for the fuzz, the band unleashes an inspired collection of grungy stoner metal madness. From the opening note of "Speeder" to the tasty doom lick of closer "Monsteroid", Kaiser has gained my attention.

I am head over heels with the Flying Eyes. They almost seem like a cross between Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and the Black Angels.
On the other hand, they sound like they're some great undiscovered band from around from the late 60s to the early 70s.
