Food Processor Lying Fallow

My wife got me the top of the line Cuisinart model Christmas-before-last and I've used it twice. Almost everything I'm inclined to use it for - chopping veggies, blending, pureeing - I rationalize that I can do quicker with a knife or blender, once assembly, use, disassembly, washing, drying and reassembly is factored in.
I come to F&D for inspiration. I'd like to get some use out of this cool gadget.
Please lay it on me.

I use mine for hummus, pesto, and my semi world famous lamb marinade. Also do a blender Béarnaise in my small one.

I like making sauces in mine as well with as many whole fresh ingredients as possible. Prepared horseradish is much better fresh than jarred.

Yep....horseradish root with a good dash of white vinegar ....great stuff. Pulse until fine....makes a much better cocktail sauce.

You are right. I only use mine, now, for making Peanut Butter. The Cleaning Time Negates the "Proficiency" of the Machine.

The cleansing time for a new cuisinart means rinsing and/or putting it in the dish washer.

If you just want to chop a couple of onion, a food processor is a waste of time. If you are preparing the aformentioned hummus, pesto, horseradish, or grating a block of cheese or making gumbo for 20, a food processor is a miracle.
I presume you meant 'laying fallow', not that I'm qualified to be the spelling or grammar police.

Yes, it has its "+'s".
I now use a Cheap, Plastic Hand-Cranked Machine, and it is Superior to my Cuisinart, in many ways. Very easy to Hand Wash.

Lying is the present participle of lie.
Once you lay (put or place) a food processor on the counter, it is lying (reclining, resting) there, not laying there.
So it's lying fallow....
...I think. That's how I remember it at least.

You used "lying" correctly IMO fwiw.
