need help getting jet ski running UPDATE: STARTER WAS FRIED, REPLACING

seadoo jet ski won't start. new battery last year and freshly charged. put stabil in gas at end of season. stored in storage shed with cover. now can't get it to start. I am no mechanic and did not completely "winterize" it I guess. But what's my most likely issue here. starter just turns and turns but engine won't crank. seems like another $500 bill. any help appreciated. FYI, it's a 99 seadoo. 2 stroke and has been converted from oil injected to premix. ran great the last time I used it.

A little stater fluid might help it bust off... or take it in for a "tune up".

Spray starter fluid in it. Probably need a fresh can because sometimes you have to keep spraying until the motor warms up

Put it out of it's misery.

You either have no fire or no fuel. I would bet its the plugs.

Oh yeah, did you out the little safety clip back in? Is there a shut-off on the handle that also needs to be pushed.
I didn't know about the Seadoo shut-off thing, and sat in Lake P for 4hrs once floating around

Sorry, but I found that funny as hell!

Hope you get it running. I used to fish in the spillway off of mine. The looks I used to get from bass fishermen were priceless.

I feel your pain.....Are you sure the battery's good? The first year I had my JetSki I didn't keep the brand new battery charged during the winter. It was dead by the next spring so that had to buy another one. Since then I keep charged all winter w/ a "Battery 'Tender." Very useful product that I highly recommend. If battery's good, try the starter fluid. Does your Seadoo have a priming pump? Last year the line carrying fuel to the priming pumb came off the pump. Until I figured out what had happened, I couldn't start JetSki and had fuel in the hull.

compression, fuel, spark. check each of these one is the culprit
ETA. if you can tell us which it is, you will get more help

it's your starter bendix.
You probably have the 951 engine in yours and that was a common problem with them.

OK. I have no priming bulb. there is definitely gas in it. the kill switch is in place. the starter turns over plenty so I don't think it's a battery problem. I agree with getting no gas or no fire. so check the plugs first I guess. and heres a silly question for you guys, where do I get starter fluid and where do I spray it?

Auto parts store and in the intake

auto parts store, home depot, lowes, etc...
spray direct in the cylinder if you can get the plugs in fairly quickly or into the carb's air inlet
Are you getting Spark? pull a plug, leave the wires on, crank and see. dont touch the engine while doing this
If you are, next try the starting fluid, if that helps it start to crank, its the fuel, if not, next onto compression
while you are getting starting fluid, just get it at an Auto parts store, and rent a compression tool while there. attach and check compression

I have always thought the plug needed to be grounded to spark. I've held it on the block for as long as I can remember. Shocking

didn't you say starter was spinning but engine wasn't cranking over?
Does it sound like the starter is not engaging with the motor or the motor is actually spinning around but not wanting to run?
