And as a side note: does anyone know about how many points it takes to get the philanthropic ranking around 3000? 4000?
I am 3301 in philanthropic right now with 27.4 points. will probably drop some before 3/31

There are two types of accounts once you start donating..
Philanthropic and Lifetime Priority points.
The philanthropic are used for new tickets, parking passes
The Priority points are for Bowl game and I believe away game tickets
Philanthropic points are accumulated for donations outside of seat requirement donations. They are applied to your lifetime priority ranking.
I have approx 54 Philanthropic pts and that puts me at a rank somewhere around 1100. There are approx. 11k philanthropic accounts
I have approx 59 priority pts which puts me around 2700 out of 14-15k lifetime priority pts.
To get new tickets for football you need to be in the 3k range of the philanthropic range. Even then you may not get seats worth a crap or even together.
ETA: If you call TAF, they will tell you where a certain donation will put you on the list.

Someone did the calculation on this board either last year or the year before.
If you had NEVER given a dime and wanted to get 2 endzone seats together, you would have had to give $45-50K.
If that's the case, it would be more now as #3,000 two years ago has at least 7-10 more points.

Negative... last year it went above 4K, but not by much. I think it was around 4030 last year.

NOT for 2 seats TOGETHER in the endzones.

He didn't say anything about endzone seats... he said new football tickets. I got 4 tickets together in the EU's two years ago and my ranking was over 4,100.
ETA - FWIW, IMO the EU's are better tickets than endzones. You can see every part of the field in the EU's and WU's.

quote:No, and this is the biggest issue I have with the TAF. The same people get to buy the premium tickets to specialty events every year. When the tickets have resale value they buy every ticket they can and profit off of their past donations. When we end up in the Chik-fil-A Bowl they disappear.
3. If you do get picked and don't like the tix, can you say no and try again the following year?
Their ought to be a priority point cost assigned to every ticket sold. Annual big donors will re-fill their accounts, but the one-time big donation types will go to the back of the line if they do not replenish their points, and those who make annual gifts will move forward as their cumulative donations increase.

That's one of the reasons they split the philanthropic pts away from the priority points. For example; the new south endzone stadium club seats are on a contract basis. If you do not continue donating to the philanthropic side, you will be in danger of losing your seats as the donations associated with tickets are assigned to your lifetime ranking.
I'm not sure why you said No though... Your points don't go away if you turn down tickets. Unless something has changed, you simply reapply the following year.

Where did you get the Info about losing your points in 20 years?
Posted on 3/4/13 at 3:50 pm to Me Bite
Last year, in order to get 2 together in the south endzone your TAF ranking had to be around 1080. For a pair together in the North it had to be around 800. You essentially have no hope of getting lower bowl tickets together anytime soon unless you donate $25,000 all at once.
Now for crappy upper deck tickets, the last couple of years you had to be ranked around 3000-4000 or so. Just to give you an idea, 25 philanthropic points will put you around a TAF ranking of 3500. You could make a $10,000 donation that gives you 35 points and within the range to possibly get a pair together in the upper deck.

TAF Priority points are on a 20 year rolling basis. That means in 2024 people that donated and got points in 2004 will lose those points from 2004.

Is it easier to get a pair of tix as opposed to four?
