I missed the second half. Was there really a foul in the box that the ref missed (seen at ~1:05 in the video LINK?
It's hard to tell from the replay, and it almost looks like the Mexican player gets the ball.

Yes clear foul, stone cold pen.

If you watched as well, there was a huge through the back foul that should've been a red around the 35-40 minute.. followed 2 minutes later by that same mexican fouling Villareal in the box by clearly taking his legs out and it should have been PK #2, then at 1:05 like you say would have been another one...
No wonder Mexico never got scored on in this tourney, they could hack down opposing attackers at will.

Clearly a penalty IMO, not even a doubt

It was bad. Clear leg sweep from behind not even in the same zip code as the ball.

Did y'all watch the replay? Because from the commentary in the thread last night and from what you guys are saying, it was a clear penalty. But from the angle given in the highlights it looks like, while he comes in from behind, he might have gotten the ball. I trust y'alls judgment, but I would really like a replay that shows a better angle of it.
And yeah, under no circumstances should that slide tackle from behind have been anything other than a straight red card. That was total bullshite, as was the foul on Villareal in the box.

IIRC, Rodriguez got the touch on the ball, not the defender. In real time, it did look like the defender might have, though.

I watched the second half of the game, it was a penalty. No doubt, clear as day.

In real time I thought he may have gotten a piece of the ball but they showed a replay that showed he got no ball and clearly took down the attacker.

You are right ,he got a touch on the ball barley.
But the US guy is still in pursuit of the ball nicked out in front a yard. And then the guy from behind clips his legs down.
STILL A PENALTY ALL DAY.
2 penalties not called and a great ( lucky) save by the Mexican goal keeper is given as a GOAL KICK ..LMAO
