Do yo-yos really work well for sac-a-lait?

Never tried them, but thinking about it. What do you use for bait?
Better for bream?

Excellent for perch/ crappie/ saccalait and catfish.

Bait with shiners for the most part. If you get real spry early summer, break out the catalpa worms for some dynamite yo-yoing.

Bream...... Not so much.

Yes they work!

Not well for bream.

Use shiners for bait.

If you try to catch a bream on a yo yo, you're gonna end up slinging bream into Texas.

use shiners, get catfish and white perch, along with the occasional snake or turtle. Used to tear up it up with yo-yos back in the day on Dorcheat bayou.

some of the best memories of my life were made sitting around a fire sippin on some whiskey while listening for yo-yo s....

and yes, they are very effective for white perch...

There is a special knot to tie them with. When you master this art as well as find a good boat driver you have it whipped.

Also to the OP, I recommend getting some reflective tape and putting a piece on each side of the you-yo. Makes them much easier to spot with the q-beam.
