For starters if u are gaming with a Xbox or ps3 then u don't need a smart tv unless there is something i don't know about. The consoles have Netflix and many of the other features.

I have 2 Samsung plasmas (one 52' and one 37') and they both have as clean a picture as the day I bought them. This includes playing video games and DVDs on both TVs.

This.
Plus if you watch a lot of TV shows HULU Plus is one of the best investments you can make.

Plasma
PROS: fastest response times, best picture quality, great viewing angles, Best black levels
CONS: Not as bright, heavier, not as energy efficient, burn-in slightly possible
LCD (typical) CFL/LED
PROS: bright, lighter tvs, more energy efficient
CONS: slower response times, bad black levels, light uniformity can be an issue
Some LCDs with LED Local Dimming can match the black levels of certain Plasma TVs. However, these can be very pricey.

Ha and cost efficient.
I use a plasma and I love it. I think they are the best for tv and movies. You may have to play with the settings though because it can be a little too dark with games.

Personally, I wouldn't much give a crap about the smart aspect of the TV. For netflix/hulu/etc. just get a Roku/gaming device to watch it. I prefer the Roku to watch streaming media b/c of the always on aspect and the bluetooth remote means I don't have to point it at the device.
Just my 2 cents
