AND the Texas football myth continues.
Texas has landed Toshiro Davis and who else?
A&M landed a handfull of Louisiana kids who LSU didn't offer including Noel Ellis.
I suppose the writers of these pro-texas aticles of late are oblivious to ED Paris and Hardeman??
In all fairness, what do they think is so enticing fo a Louisiana kid in Austin that he will leave home and a chance to play for his home state? These writers simply don't understand Louisiana or the people here.
What has gotten many of these writer's attention this past season is the simple fact that LSU went national in recruiting and put together a top 5 class. It surprises them and they know that if LSU can go national and dominate the State of Louisiana the way it did this recruiting class then LSU will be a serious force to be dealt with for a long time. For whatever reason, they just don't like it.
Too damn bad. By the way, UT has nothing on LSU. Nothing. Hell, they had better be worried about their own backyard because LSU is cherry picking and A&M is about to jump them in-state.

In all fairness, Austin and the Hill country are very nice. And by the same token what is so enticing to make other kids leave Texas or any other state? Certainly LSU looks to have a better team over the next couple of years and compete at a higher level, but that can change almost over night.

Texas is a major brand in college football. I'm a die had Tiger fan but realize that Texas has the clout to be a serious threat for any recruit they target in Louisiana. They have flipped Mike Davis and Toshiro Davis after both had been commited to LSU. They must still be relevant.
When Frank Herron visited Texas, there were a lot of you with tight asses then.I try to be a realistic Tiger fan,not like many of the band geeks that post.
What recruits have switched from Texas to LSU in the last ten years?
I suspect that Texas has Mack's successor lined up.
Brown was a good recruiter in New Orleana area at LSU and Tulane.
Please see success Brown had at North Carolina. He recruited New Orleans very well while at OU too.
Texas has locked up recruiting too early in my opinion, but they know more than me.Recruiting system enhanced white QBs from the schools with so much more talent than the teams they played that failed to test the kids' mental toughness has led to Horn's demise.I suspect they realize this now. When you have ten or more good Div One QB recruits each year, you are bound to miss on some.
Personally,I consider Texas a threat in Louisiana. If Texas offered Frank Wilson a job he would listen. They have the money.
