By stating this, you are actually agreeing with me in my argument with the other guy.


What he and I were debating was a 2010 NFL.com scouting report on Galette.LINK The report never discusses anything but his ability to play either a 4-3 DE or a 3-4 OLB in the analysis and strengths sections. In the weaknesses section, although scheme terms for neither DE or OLB were used, he contends they were suddenly discussing his problems with being used as a 4-3 OLB.

The other guy, to support his argument, contended that by them referring to him as a "tweener", they were now talking about 4-3 OLB's. Going by his argument, a 3-4 OLB is assumed to be a "tweener" who is not strong enough for 4-3 DE or fast enough for 4-3 OLB, instead of one of the most heavily sought positions in all of football. My contention is that they were referring to him as "tweener" in that they didn't feel he was strong enough for 4-3 DE or fast enough for 3-4 OLB. Even though they brag about his burst in the strengths section, burst and speed don't necessarily equate. Whether you disagree with the report is unrelated to the argument he and I were having. I actually disagree with the speed comment myself.

But as you yourself stated, how many people ever considered Galette as a 4-3 OLB in the NFL, much less debated his pros and cons at that position.
