You're criticizing a college mascot for being an 'attention whore?' And you consider it to be such an issue you can't stand attending games? I've heard it all. My God man, get a life.
But I agree, this Mike lacks the stoic restraint of a British nobleman, a characteristic critical to a successful person dressing in a costume for a college athletic team.

Atleast our mascot doesn't look like a coked out tiger (auburn and clemson)

Love him(s).
Recent past Mike's have been boring as hell and may as well have not been there.
The purpose of a mascot is to entertain and elevate fan spirit (VERY difficult to do in the PMAC) and to generate some fun.
He's SUPPOSED to seek attention.
This one does that, even if only for the kids (since so many people here seem incapable of being cheerful, I sometimes think that BR water must contain some kind of neurochemical that induces depression and removes all sense of joy).
The last one annoyed the crap out of me because he may as well have been robot or a statue.
The naysayers prolly only get spirits lifted when they imbibe spirits.

Mike has been out of the Band Dept for many many years. Then, there was one person that was Mike,now there are several on a rotating basis.

wrong, team mike is now run by the lsu spirit squad. there are 4-6 GUYS that are possibly in the suit. they do every home bball fball gym soccer most baseball and various other sports. I would recommend anyone with concerns about our mascot to go to the fan zone on lsusports.net and full out a tryout application for themselves
