That doesn't really have anything to do with it for him. He's a workout warrior. He was top 5 of the team in bench max and I think he squated the most as well. He also was one of the strongest for power clean.

And not to mention hes always been pound for pound one of the strongest on the team. Dude is jacked.

Also, it's not unusual for leaner athletes to have more explosive power. The bench press is an explosive movement.
I'd actually expect a lean, but stocky, 220-pounder to be able to outrep a bulky 300-pounder at 225.
