I may need to switch to a wilson magnet type...will make it easier to take on and off.

The magnets are good but you will knock it off.
The permanent ones just hold the whip in with two set screws.
If you can tolerate drilling a hole in your roof the permanent ones are awesome. Not to mention they look wayyyyyy better
