The CJ at LSU was awesome... The Muhommad Abdullah ruaafff was an idiot. All of you that say he stood up for his beliefs so praise him need to get a clue. He was fine taking millions of American dollars, but just " hated" what it stood for. If you're ok with any athlete refusing to stand for our flag and disrespecting this country and what it stands for just because he played for LSU....sad. A lot of men have died for that flag and yes he has the right to be an idiot because of them. That also gives me the right to dislike his arse.
I think it is time for you to go back to bed.

Took the nation by storm his freshman year, it was a fun thing to watch and he was as good a passer as a shooter

IMO a man has the right to stand up( or sit down ) for what he believes in. Regardless he is a great ball player and no one can take that away from him.

This is such a close-minded statement. I disagree with Jackson's philosophy, but he did not harm anyone. All he did was sit during the National Anthem, and explained that he felt uncomfortable giving allegiance to anyone but God. He also said America had a history of tyranny and oppression. Is that really an incorrect statement? It is up for interpretation, and it is clear that Chris Jackson had very well thought-out beliefs. He had convictions and stood by them. You may disagree with his convictions, but I doubt you have the strength he did to stand by them with what was at stake, both publicly and financially.
This.

I think he meant he screwed up his NBA career with that stuff and you can't really argue that
He felt strong enough about his beliefs that he was willing to go play oversees over the "flag issue". He wasn't being loud and drawing attention to himself, he was just not standing during the Anthem as he would stay seated and say a prayer to Allah instead. After several games someone in the media noticed it and started asking him about it. Then it became a big story. Not long after that he had trouble picking up with a NBA team, so he played ball in Turkey for a few years. While I don't know his exact feelings on that, I do know that I've never heard him complain about it. To the best of my knowledge he was just fine with playing professional basketball near the Middle East.
I'm not saying I agree with his beliefs, but I support him in his freedom to hold such beliefs.

it's very interesting that those who complain about his CHOICE don't seem to get that it is a Freedom that we should all fight for. The right to have your own beliefs
seems like some only want freedom if they agree with the belief

the issue i have with him was that nearly his entire career he would just stay in the locker room during the anthem. but i guess he thought that staying in the locker room wasn't getting him enough attention. and if you really think he only did this because of his beliefs and didn't want the attention then you're f'n naive. he knew exactly what he was doing.

well no shite. and its my freedom to think that he's an America hating a-hole, but i guess he didn't hate America enough to keep cashing those checks

Helluva shooter. Second only to the Pistol as LSU's best ever scorer. May have been better than Shaq while at LSU.

it's very interesting that some people don't understand that it's our CHOICE to think he's a dickbag for his beliefs. you can believe whatever you want...doesn't mean i have to respect your dumb arse for it.
i think the Westboro Baptist Church group should all die in an aids infested fire.....but they have the right to believe whatever they want.

I bought 12 of these in the union the day it came out. He was in one of my speech classes along with Vernel Singleton that semester. CJ signed all 12 copies for me the day it came out.

"He stood up for what he believed."
Actually, he sat down for what he believed.

Shaq was not even the best big man while at LSU. He could not hit the wide side of a barn. He traveled nearly ever time he touched the ball, whether it was called or not. He was an accomplished dunker. You have to give him that.

im sorry Shaq banged your girlfriend....but this is just false. Shaq was arguably the most dominant player in college basketball when he was at LSU and definitely the most dominant center. he wasn't getting fouled non-stop for no reason.

Vernel always wore the band-aid on his shoulder.

You obviously do not understand the game of basketball. He was fouled to keep him from dunking the ball which was the only thing he could do.

The story within a story with this cover is that Nike pulled off a huge coup having CJ wear those shoes.
