Forgive me, as I'm a new fan of college baseball. But has a team ever gone undefeated in recent history? I know you're kidding about us going undefeated, but I'd be interested in knowing the last time that happened, if ever.

Going back to 1947, when the CWS began, no team has gone unbeaten.

The greatest winning percentage in the history NCAA baseball was in 1972 when Arizona State when 64-6.

The most wins in a single season was in 1982 when Wichita State won 73 games.

Not even close in the last 25 years.

These days it is very rare for even the top teams to have single digit losses.

Back in the 80's-90's, teams like Miami used to put up records like 52-5 in the regular season, and that was thought to be astronomical.

Skip Bertman averaged 18.3 losses per season.

The fewest losses for any of LSU's 6 national title teams is 13.

Anyone who has played baseball on any level will tell you that going undefeated just isn't logical. There's so many elements that go into a baseball game that are always factored in. Baseball is a strange game. You can be crushing the ball 6 games in a row and walk up to the plate in the 8th inning and not get another hit for a week. Mental aspects of the game will never allow a team to go undefeated. Think about the MLB.... Going 100-62 is a damn good season. Losing 62 games is considered a great year.
