Cruising on our 22 is around 35 mph. Top end is 45. Quick enough for me. But as was mentioned, fuel isnt getting any cheaper. My father in law really did his research on this rig. Met one of the owners at a boat show, invited him to the factory in Miss. I believe they told him the 150 gave them the best performance on the boat. He did tell him the 150 four stroke was one of the most dependable motors Yamaha has produced.

Yamaha just released an in-line 4 cylinder F200. If I go this route, I might try to get it with that extra HP as I not only fish Louisiana but also fish the Destin Pass area (near shore cobia fishing).
Those that have been through that pass when the tide is going out know that it can be quite turbulent and that extra HP might be an advantage when figting said outgoing tide with a north wind headed into the pass.
