After pondering over this move since it was announced, my initial over reaction was, well, larger than rob himself. However, after really thinking about it and talking with a close friend of mine who is a Dallas fan, I actually feel a little optimistic that we may be better off here than I initially thought. While I still have my doubts, I am actually excited to see what he can infuse into the defensive side of the ball and if we can become a productive unit that helps win some tight games this year.

I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt until he has an epic bad season like the one that did Spags in.

Honestly I don't see how he could be worse than anything we've had so far.

I live in Dallas and most seem like they are excited to see him go, but majority of these "fans" were just looking for a an out guy. Defense kept them in most of their games.

I know you can throw middle of the pack numbers up about the defense, but 1. they bailed Tony Romo out multiple times holding people to fgs off turnovers inside their 20. And 2. he did this with a bunch of scrubs off the street. Dallas's cap was terrible and they had something like 8 opening day starters out majority of the year.

I'm excited to see the guy in NOLA as a saints fan.

I think the side show he has brought to himself sometimes and the media lapping up all things Ryan was the most annoying thing surrounding him.
This will be the best most professional org. he's been with since his super bowl years for the Pats.
I think none of us are going to go over board like last year and he has only one way to go with this Def. If he can't get it done here his DC career is kaput. 16-12th in def rank by 2014 will get him all the pub he needs.

The way I look at it is that they're is nothing I can do about the hire, except sit back and watch. The thing is that we don't even need an elite defense here, just one that can make two to three stops per game and get us a turnover or so. We should also begin a better conditioning program, because our offense has the quick strike capability that could have our D back on the field at any time.

Nothing has really happened since the hire to change my mind much. I'll need to wait and see his demeanor during TC's and get a feel for the players responses. Also, we know things aren't going to go too well early most likely but how does he handle adjustments and the players and how does he get improvement fast.
