Taking it one step further, if I were Frank Wren I would seriously consider trading Kimbrel next offseason if he has another dominant season. Braves have plenty of natural options for closer in 2014 (Venters, Walden, Graham), and some team like the Yankees would overpay like mad for Kimbrel with Rivera retiring. We could get some stud position prospects and arms for him to reload the farm system, and more important, use Kimbrel's money to sign Heyward, Freeman, and Medlen to long term deals.

Look back at old man career.
Does anybody have a link to this? I did a search on COX and I guess I don't get Sportsouth and the show isn't showing up on Fox Sports South

maybe I'm just forgetful but I can't remember a spring training where this many starters were constantly in every lineup
Me either. I may also be remembering things incorrectly, but I seem to recall the first couple of weeks usually being nothing but backups most days and then having the starters slowly get more and more work as opening day gets closer.
Could have something to do with us not having to platoon as much anymore with Chipper gone and 3 solid starters in the outfield.

I'm starting to really enjoy watching minor pitch. Never thought I'd be saying that early on last season.

Good to see, hope he has a great year and rides off into sunset

How are they going to retire his number, since it's already retired?
Posted on 3/9/13 at 8:18 pm to Robot Santa
Kind of like how the Cubs retired 31 for Ferguson Jenkins and Maddux

Just bought tickets to the Braves/Royals series. It will be my kids' first braves game.

I know I am late, but I just got around to watching Driven today. I'm going to be crying like a baby June 28th when they retire Chippers number. I had to fight back tears just watching that damn documentary. I miss Chipper already.
