During Isaac out direct TV went out for about 5 minutes total(Covington). All our family ended up coming over so they could watch TV. Love DTV.

Yeah, people like to say "Oh Directv goes out whenever it rains" but when it does, its only for a few mins at a time. Whereas if there is an outage with cable, it can take hours or days to resolve.

Thats why Directv is rated the most reliable service.

Growing up in Nola with Cox, I remember it going out whenever it rained heavy too. My directTV only goes out during severe weather just like cable. But again my sister 3 miles away had a bad signal so I dunno.

Didn't want to start a new thread but the wife said something ran across the screen last night during Idol that Fox was no longer going to be carried by Direct. Anyone know if this is similar to the Nick, MTV, etc., fiasco a couple of months back or if this is for real?

I am willing to bet that there are “contract negotiations” between the company that owns your local Fox affiliate and DirecTV…..
