Is Les the Bobby Bowdon of college football now?

Both recruited lights out preaching family values and all that. Both are fantastic at hiring coaches. Both live in the top 5 or top 10 in the polls. Both criticized heavily for not winning enough championships. I know the comparison has been made before, but with the Cam hire I thought about it.

You've got a good point

Les is the Les Motherfrickin Miles of CFB. Ain't no one like him.

You hit the nail on the head with this one

and if Les coaches at LSU as long as Bobby was at FSU?

He's not a Christian nutjob like Bobby, so that's a plus.

Word. Les is sharper than bubba Bowden.

. . . . . and the SEC when Bowden was making his decision was not anywhere nearly as good as it it is now.

Actually I am comparing Les to Bobby in terms of the level of coach they are perceived as in their own era.

I'm a positiger and Les fan, but BB took over at a school that had little or no success and turned it into a powerhouse. He came into TS and beat us 5 of 6 I think??
If I could hire one in hindsight I would go with BB, But Les is doing just fine....

This statement had me wondering about that whole thing?? Didn't BB have a bunch of wins forfeited.. if he did my local guy E. Robinson might still be on top....

Bobby took a teachers college to the pinnacle of colege football. Les took over a top rated program, the future will show if he kept it there.

One of the dumbest, most ignorant posts in the history of this web site.

I don't know about the teachers college part, but otherwise I think we are agreeing....

I sat next to Bobby Bowden at the National Championship game (2012). Fine fellow!

The past 8 years hasn't already shown you? Miles took a top 10-12 program and turned it into a top 3 program.

Bobby Bowden had 14 straight 5th finishes, but he didn't play in the SEC. Bowden also had his NC beatdowns, a re-match blowout vs. a team he beat earlier in a big game. And getting offensively shutout vs. OU 13-2.

I made a post in a thread a couple of days ago, Bowden went 6 years between championships, and most of the posters that complain about Miles would have wanted Bowden fired after that 5th year.
He had something like 13 straight years with top 5 finishes and only 2 NC's in that span. Obviously he was a failure.
