From everything I've been told, he has been growing still. It could have easily been taken before he was 7' tall. I don't know though. I agree he doesn't necessarily look 7' tall but we will see when he gets here. He is still really young at only 17.

Is Malone a legit player who can turn into an impact low-post guy like a Zeller or Plumlee? Or is he a long-term project?
In between. He probably isn't gonna ever be a top 10 NBA draft pick, but he could have a lot of success at LSU if he develops well. Im hoping for a guy who can be great defending the post area from driving guards and a guy who can occasionally post up a player and get baskets.

Looks like Marshall Plumlee

Thanks SoS. I agree with you. We should have enough scoring with other guys coming aboard - Martin, Mickey, Quarterman and, hopefully, Victor in 2014. We just need Malone to be a presence on the boards and on defense, blocking and altering some shots. Doesn't have to score big.

Hammink started his first semester at LSU as a 17 year old. I imagine Malone will be much the same as Hammink in terms of a lot of room to grow, physically and in basketball skills.
