i'll never get that. no offense to the brewery, but i try to find the best quality at the best price point
it's the businesses job to provide that to me, not the other way around

I get your point, but I'm supporting the brewery that is going to make the best beer at relatively the same price point. If it means paying $1 or $2 more for a six pack of Canebrake than some other beers, so be it. Are you really that strapped on cash that you can't pay a few more cents per beer to support a local brewery that is doing great things? There is no doubt in my mind that they are going to be releasing fantastic beers in the future, and knowing that makes me willing and excited to help that brewery get bigger and better.

I don't buy/drink beers just because they are "local"--Abita and Tin Roof don't make anything that ever makes it into my rotation. If there is a local brew that is of equal quality to another non-local beer, I'll buy the local beer. Plus, as Hulkk said, if there is an up and coming brewery like Parish that makes a good beer and appears to really have potential to make top notch brews, I consider buying their stuff as a investment for the future.

Tried it for the first time. Tastes like the smell of burnt hair.

Wife got me a six pack the other night when I found this thread and wanted to try it. Been drinking abita amber for quite some time now and think its a marginally better than that. First bottle was kind of meh but think is was because I was drinking it while eating dinner. Last night and tonight much better tasting by themselves as I finished them off Have to send her back tomorrow for more.

Never said I ate burnt hair, poosie. I said the taste is similar to the stench of burnt hair.
And BTW, I really wanted to like Canebreak.
