An employer can't do this.
Why not? Employers are not required to pay for non-work, unless there is a contractual agreement which requires them to do so.

Because if you give a two weeks notice, and they tell you to leave and not come back and they are not going to pay you out for the 2 weeks, they would be firing you. You could collect unemployment if they did.
